I, too, was an iPhone user. But after purchasing my SGS3, I do NOT missb my iphone. My only complaint with this phone is that it will not allow you to send a HD video via text or email. You either have to upload to Dropbox or YouTube (which I find annoying), or else change the settings to a lower recording quality. Other than this, in my opinion the phone is AWESOME! The gmail app pushes your emails instantly, but does not allow you to move your emails to folders. The stock email does but it only pushes your emails in whatever time you've selected. I am a heavy email user so mine is set to be pushed every 5 mins or I manually push it myself. GO SMS is by far the best messaging app as the stock app is not as quick and easy to function. Plus, you can download themes etc. I would also recommend buying your accessories on Amazon as I bought my Otterbox there half off cheaper than Best Buy. Ebay also has some cheap accessories such as On the go USB cable which is cool. This phone is fun once you get the hang of it. I also recommend using a diff app for photos as the stock gallery app is kinda bland and not near as easy to use IMO. Good luck with yours. iphone 5 is an awesome phone, but I honestly would only have it bc of the camera. :p

Amazing information, thank you for sharing. It seems we have the same needs (heavy e-mail) and I am glad to hear that you are satisfied. I am going to my local AT&T store later today to pick one up. I am going to try something that I hope will be successful in that I am going to buy the SG3 off contract so I don't lose my upgrade eligibility with my iPhone. I will try it out for a week or so and then if I like it I will return the SG3 for the full price and then go in and to the exchange of my iPhone for another SG3. I know this might seem like a lot to go through but I'm just afraid that if I give up my iPhone and I for some reason don't like the SG3 I will be stuck with it. Sincerely hoping and thinking that this won't happen but you never know.

Another question for people with the white device. Does it get dirty easily? I wash my hands frequently throughout the day but I would hate to have a device that got yellow or dingy.

Thanks

I have the white one and it has never gotten dirty! :)

Sorry if this post comes through twice, I posted a reply but it didn't show up for some reason. Thanks for all the responses again, very helpful. I am going to get one from AT&T today but I am going to try to keep my iPhone as well just in case. My thought is to buy the SG3 off contract at full price and use if for awhile to determine if I like it. If I do then I can go back to the store at that point and return the GS3 for a full refund then go back and exchange my iPhone for another SG3. I know this seems like a lot but if I go in and exchange my iPhone right away for the SG3 and it turns out that I don't like it I will be stuck with it as I can only do one swap out with AT&T and maintain my upgrade eligibility. I hope this will work. I sincerely hope that I like the SG3 but just in case I will still have my iPhone.

Thanks again everyone

I think that's the best thing to do! The i5 is an awesome phone. To me their retina display and camera is the best on the market. The Gs3 is also a great phone. The 4.8 display makes it nice to watch videos etc. You can also use a stylus to make it even more fun. :) You can also watch flash vidoes on Ustream and websites with flash, unlike Apple so its a nice plus with the GS3. Enjoy!!!!

One other thing i forgot to add...I love having an LED on the phone, at a glance i can see if anything needs my attention without turning the phone on.

^ Is this by any chance the same SpartanRob that used to be on HoFo years ago? If so, Hey Rob, it's me Nextel1996.

To the OP. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack thread but it sounds like you got what you needed already. GS3 is a no brainer device. Absolutely love mine. If you need any recommendations for cases, skins or apps, don't hesitate!

Awesome. Just ran into UrbanStrata on Twitter. Small world. Hope all is well. Congrats on GS3. I went from iPhone to Android and never looked back!

Let us know how everything turns out. I personally came from BB and I have never looked back. I wanted to wait for next BB phone but they kept pushing back the release date. So I said forget that! What got me convinced to switch was I played around with a demo s3 at a local futureshop. And I was amazed how fast everything loaded. Like websites and such. Because my BB Torch 9800 took so long to load. Especially when you tried to zoom in, it still need to load!

To the OP, have you considered trying the Note 2? You seem to be on business end of things. Now I don't know the advantages and disadvantages but it's another option for you to think about.

Good luck!

Well, I figured I would address bluetooth issue. I have a honda accord 2013 and bluetooth and phone work great. In fact, I had my car running to warm up and went to get something out of the car and my music from bluetooth was playing already & the phone was in the house. Very impressed with that. On my car, it also lists song, etc. so don't know if that's a function of Honda electronics or S3 electronics since someone said My Ford Touch/Sync doesn't play as nice as mine does.

I currently am using a Captivate (Galaxy S1) and unless something has been changed on the S3 (which I doubt) you do not need to use GMail to sync & have auto push through of MS Exchange Server email. When setting your Exchange Server email up by entering the appropriate incoming/outgoing server info you can select auto push through. When you do it this way it has nothing to do with GMail. If you also use your GMail account it is a separate account from the Exchange Server account. The Exchange Server email account will also have all of your folders just as you do in Outlook. Your Outlook PC calendar will sync with your phone but if you want to have the phone calendar sync with Outlook (i.e. make a calendar entry on the phone and have it sync w/ your Outlook calendar on your PC) you need an app on the phone and its corresponding program installed on your PC. MyPhoneExplorer is a free app and there are several paid apps that have additional phone/PC Outlook synching capabilities. You can view them online @Google Play. I use my phone almost 100% for business use and have found it to be completely satisfactory. Two other apps I highly recommend are 1) CamScanner which allows you to use the camera to scan documents and 2) through Dropbox have those scanned documents instantly on your PC. Both of those are free. I also highly recommend using Carbonite for cloud PC backup ($59/year) which comes with Carbonite Mobile for your phone. This allows you to access any document/picture on your PC from the phone. I am greatly looking forward to getting my S3 hopefully for free on Black Friday. If not free then $49! You will definitely not be disappointed with the available business capabilities.
