Question New here help with symbol

Hello. I went to send message in messages and the person I text had a black circle with a slash / through it. It looks like my message went through but haven't got a reply yet. Does anyone know what that circle symbol means.

That means the number if blocked from texting on your phone. When texting that number you should have a pop-up banner on top with the option to unblock, however.

Thank you for your time. The unblock came up after several times. I had blocked this person and unblocked before I text the original text which apparently didn't work. I eventually did a reboot and everything corrected itself.
