new here... need some advice

i am currently a iphone 4s user it was jailbroken but since i am giving it to a family member because i am using my grandparants upgrade to get this phone. so i un-jailbroke it so i can see if everything would be normal. i am seeing apps in the google play store such as system tuner. does this app require the phone to be rooted? it doesnt say...but yall know more then i do at this stuff

i am getting away from iphone because lack of features that android has. so i may not root

i dont understand so if rooting is like jailbreaking. why are apps in google play for that. and is it legal and do i get to keep my warranty?

Rooting is not illegal , it voids your warranty if they find out you have rooted but normally you can unroot and they wont know the difference. Since rooting is not illegal you can post apps in the play store that require root. The playstore is not as controlled as the iphone market is. Apple is one company and they don't want you jailbroken so they dont allow posting apps that require being jail broken. Google is "Open" so they dont care wether your device is rooted or not.

If an app requires root it will tell you in the description if it requires root.

Thank ya for the advice, after being with a jailbroke iphone it was alright but the phone woldnt run certain tweaks and getting boot in safe mode so may not be rooting this one (which is the whole reason i am packing bags and leaving apple great product but its to locked down. So getting the money saved up for the phone is tough but hopefully in 2 weeks i will buy me one
