Yikes! Hahaha. Well. It's here alright. It's here for sure.

And AC has covered it in "real" detail. I like it. With all the comparisons. And clearly mentioned the places where it still lacks.

When I was going through the pictures posted at the start I couldn't believe they'd come out of an HTC phone. They look so crisp and beautiful.

But then in the comparison the S7 really showed where the HTC camera lacked. And it's only just the corners which seem mushy. The rest of the picture characteristics look almost identical.

Having said that. This just means that when looking at the pictures of the 10 as they are, isolated, they are pretty amazing! Crisp. Sufficiently saturated. Overall pleasing to the eye.

I am finally convinced. I think. And also, I can see that HTC WANTS to make this camera better. And that they can through updates. I like the enthusiasm. And I believe they will keep trying to make it better in the future.

Hmmmm.. HTC you have my attention.

It's great to see HTC pushing out a good update right at the time when most people are eagerly awaiting shipment of their phones.
Wouldn't surprise me if we have a few more over the next month or two

Yes I think so too. But we have to consider another thing. By then, the next iphone with an even bigger and better camera will be out.

So the next Nexus, whoever makes it has to make it better than the ones right now.

Note series. Might have the S7 sensor.
IPhone. Will definitely up their game.
LG V something. Will definitely up the game.
Oneplus. Will definitely up the game.

All these phones will have excellent cameras for sure for sure. The Nexus line up has a pretty tall order to deliver this time.

But I have faith.

The threads will be flooded by Saturday with all kinds of hate especially the folks that bought the G5 and then talked themselves into believing that it is great and that those defective paint chips and not aligned bottoms are okay because they put cases on their phones so they do not need to arrive flawless.

Hi Phil and Alex,

Thanks for the review of HTC 10's camera update. Will it be possible to see how the updated camera software holds up against LG G5 as well? That may well decide on which of the 3 phones I will get next. Keep up the excellent work, much appreciate it!

Nice article on the update. Seems like it's a pretty good patch. Currently waiting for it to be released here.

Hopefully there will be even more updates and improvements down the track.

I'm afraid not. I had been waiting for the users to get the phone and hear what they have to say. People aren't very happy with the phone. From the looks of it. Ahhhh... I don't know. Htc why couldn't you put a display which could please all? And a camera to please all? HTC didn't go all in this year. With the price tag so high it makes it even an harder sell.

Let's see. I'll wait some more.

I have seen a lot of people praising this phone. I have it in hand. The display is fine. It is not as bright as the S7 but where I live (SE FL) I can see the screen just fine in bright, bright sunlight.

Here in the US we haven't gotten the camera update yet so yes, the camera is not super great right now, but from what I have read, after the update it is quite a bit better and faster.
