Hi there,
I was rocking a Droid X and X2 for the last 3 years, and honestly have been hating it for a while. It was slow, slow, no updates, gingerbread android, slow, laggy, froze up, and did I mention slow?
Anyways, been eying the One since its release. I have had an upgrade since April, but no phone really caught my eye. I knew anything would seem great because of how bad my phone was acting, so I was trying to choose carefully.
I wanted to like the Galaxy S4, and it worked well in store, good screen, cool features, cheesy features, but the look and feel were not good. Basically a deal breaker. I rocked the X/2 with no case the whole time, so the look and feel is important to me. (note: the Droid X and X2 are like, indestructible. I dropped it so much and never cracked a screen or made it inoperable. only got an X2 bc eventually I got a black spot on my X from too much abuse.)
So there I was, upgrade in hand and I could not get the phone I wanted. So....I waited. Last Friday, the wait was over, went to Verizon and picked it up! So excited! Once I saw it in person I knew it was the One, and I handled each and every phone in the store to compare. Nothing else comes close. The phone was gorgeous, but I still did not want a case. That is until the rep brought out the metal looking Incipio case with rubber inside, hard outside. I felt it kept good looks, gave superior protection, and was semi slim. I like it.
First night I was snapping photos, Zoes, videos, and playing with all of the settings. I absolutely love the Highlight Video feature. That is the main feature that was impressing every single person I showed. People with Iphone 5 phones were just like, "can mine do that? that is so cool" Now I can share the whole night in a short video clip. The night pictures were also impressive, I already appreciate that attribute of the camera. My X had an 8MP but it feels like this one takes way sharper and clearer photos. Night photos is no contest.
A few of my friends have AT&T Ones and were ragging that I bought a phone they had for months.....Yet I showed them the Highlight Video function. They were like "Woah! That is so awesome that my phone does that!"
Tonight I tried out the TV controller....Wow! Had no idea it would be so nice to change a channel without looking up, then keep looking at the "guide". Pictures for every show, not interrupting your tv screen. So cool. I will use it more and more.
The screen is super bright and sharp. It is blazing fast going from app to app. No lag is apparent. It is beautiful front and back. Feels good in the hand. Impresses every where it goes. THIS, I feel, will turn HTC around and it is on a whole new level compared to other devices.
Whew, sorry for the long winded post.
