I just got a new Patriot 16GB micro SDHC Class 4 memory card for my EVO 3D and am having some problems. I install the card and everything looks good in that the phones setup says I have a 16GB card with just over 8GB available. Then if I try to play some music the phone says I have none and in checking setup the phone says I have no card installed. Put my old 8GB card back in and all is good.

To get going I did the following:
1) Copy 8GB card to a folder on the PC
2) Copy the folder from the PC to the new 16GB card
3) Put new card in phone and power up.

Actually if I put the new 16GB card in the phone it shows up just fine then after a few minutes of doing nothing the message notification pops up "SD card unexpectedly removed". It's looking like this SD is NFG.

Try this, format the card using the phone.

I have found that with past cards by formating them in the phone using the phone i get a higher success rate with them.
If that fails then you might have a bad card. But its worth a shot.

Did you copy all of the files and folders from your 8GB card to your PC, then to the 16GB, or just certain files and folders?

Sounds like you pulled the card without unmounting it thro settings.
I've done this... To fix it I simply reinstalled my old card, let it read it then I unmounted it thro settings, then changed cards and it works the phone still thinks it has your original card on it basically. Always, unmount

Its good that you brought that up, because Unmounting a memory card before you remove it from the phone is so easy to do, but a lot of people just don't do it correctly. Then the card becomes fragmented and useless.
