New Moto G Power Notification LED

I have a new Moto G Power, the one Amazon sells that is unlocked for all carriers.

I am running it on Verizon.

It seems to be a pretty solid device, I just need to get a few more bugs worked out with it.

I really need a notification light that lights up or flashes when the screen is dark to let me know when I have a text (using Messages+) or an email (using Gmail) that I missed without having to wake the phone up. My Galaxy's had this and it is almost indispensable to me.

It appears I have it turned on everywhere but I get nothing. The actual audible and vibrating notifications come through when it is idle but I don't get an LED light staying on to let me know it's there if I miss the other notifications.

Is there even an LED on this model or am I missing something?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response.

I guess I wasn't thinking far enough outside the box that there would be an app that would replace it.

I see the Moto Display now and set it all up. My Gmail and Messages+ notifications show up there when there is an active one that hasn't been checked.

This may just be a tweak that I haven't figured out but the problem is that the light flashed when the phone was "asleep" and sitting there minding it's own business.

This is hard to explain but when my phone gets an email or a text message that is not responded to, after the phone goes dark or goes to sleep or whatever it does, the flashing notifications stops until I jostle or move the phone. At that time the circle with the clock, date and time lights up briefly and shows the notifications and shuts back off.

I need to figure out how to get the notification to stay flashing without me having to move or approach the phone so I know it's there just by looking at it.

Is there a way to make that happen?

Thanks again.

Nope Moto display doesn't work like that...it only lights up for a short time when you first get a notification, then lights up when you approach or move the phone.
