Hi everyone. Im new to the forum and Android. I've had my N1 (AT&T 3G version) for five days now. I'm not a stranger to smartphones though. I have used Palm Treos running Palm OS and WinMo, Blackberries, and the latest was the iPhone. Being somewhat of a hacker I never could leave well enough alone. If there was a hack/bootleg ROM/jailbreak out for the current phone I was using then it was on my phone. I love a great challenge. So now... on with the Android OS and N1. From what little I've use it so far I am pretty impressed. The build quality of the phone is nice and fits perfectly in my hand. The screen is great, except in the sun (as noted by others). But who really uses a phone in direct sunlight, besides talking on it.

Since my contract with AT&T is up in a couple months I was thinking of waiting on getting an Android phone and switching to Verizon. Main reason I was thinking of switching was because of all the dropped calls and loss of data connection I had with my iPhone. I figured if I wasn't happy with the N1 I could sell it and break even (for the most part). So far after about 200 minutes of talk time and countless MB of data usage I haven't had one dropped call of loss of data service. (iPhone, i think you have a problem) I never switched my data plan to a non-iPhone plan either.

I look forward to learning more from this Forum.

Doug
