Yo! Figured I'd make an account here so it was this forum that ended up helping me decide on the Nexus 6.
I swapped over from the Note 4 to the Nexus 6 two days ago and love it. I had gone from an LG Optimus G Pro to the Note 4, and really liked the Note. It was a good device, but I wasn't making use of the stylus enough and found myself really unhappy with the fact that Android 5.1 had come out and I was still rocking 5.0.1. Sooo I grabbed the Google Play edition of the Nexus 6 on sale and here I am!
2 things really stood out:
A) Stock Android is way better than I remember it. It always felt so bland and bleak. With Material, it feels really stylized and unique, even moreso than the manufacturer skins.
B) The sound is amazing on this thing. I'm loving it so far. The sound beats out any phone I've come in contact with and even is better, while gaming, than my PS Vita.
Only two downsides that I've had so far
1) the gmail app's exchange accounts don't seem to sync that well with my company's activesync. My Note 4 would get email notifications on the Samsung email app for my exchange emails within seconds of them being sent... sometimes faster than my desktop's outlook! My gmail app, on the other hand, takes between 20-25 minutes to get mail to me! I had an email sent at 10:01am that I received on my phone at 10:28. I tried a few test emails after that and even dragging down to refresh wasn't getting me the email
2) My wear's (LG Urbane) notifications are finicky with it for some reason. I had a call come in on my Nexus 6 this morning and my Urbane didn't make a peep. Worked flawlessly on the Note 4, so a little curious if maybe I did something wrong in the setup.
Anyhow, other than those 2 it's been great. I'm hoping that we see another Google Play edition phablet in the future; I'm a huge fan of large phones like this and would hate to see this be the last for whatever reason. I can see myself sticking to Nexus for a long time to come.
