Just purchased a new Nexus 7 (2012). This is my first tablet.

It comes preinstalled with 4.1.2. From what I can see the Kit Kat 4.4 O/S is available for my device. I have read how many people have had problems with their device after the upgrade. I also assume most people are upgrading from 4.3 to 4.4.

What do you think the best way to upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.4? Is there a better place to download from than another? Should I upgrade to 4.3 before 4.4? Will my device just do the upgrade automatically?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Go into the Settings>About the tablet, then tap on the updates tab at the top. It should start your updates. I'm not sure if it will go straight from 4.1.2 to 4.4.2, but, if not, whatever it updates to, check back in 24 hours for any other updates.
