New Nexus 7 2013, how to upgrade from 4.3 to 5.1.1?

New Nexus 7 2013, how to upgrade frpm 4.3 to 5.1.1

I am new to android but have just bought a new Nexus 7 2013 which has Android 4.3.

I have noticed an available upgrade to 4.4( which I have not downloaded at present). Does this mean that it will progressively upgrade thru every version between 4.3 and 5.1.1 , or do I need to do something special ?
