New Nexus 7 changed from 4.3 to 4.2 after update ?

Hi i just bought the nexus 7 2nd gen 2013 and when i switched it on it said it was running 4.3 jellybean - then it prompted me to update and after it had completed it then said it was running 4.2 please can someone explain why this is so and should i stick with 4.2 or can i upgrade to 4.3 ?

This is strange.

Check under Settings and check for System update and let it update to 4.3 and then 4.4.2 which is the most current/official version of Android.

Read it carefully, it said 4.4.2. I highly doubt it downgraded to 4.2.x

your welcome. With all those damn numbers and decimal points they use for version labels it's easy to just look quickly and confuse it.

This was actually happening A LOT when kitkat first came out. Almost all tech sites where even calling it 4.2.2 so I wouldn't feel bad. It happens

I admit I've been guilty of calling kit kat 4.2.2 a few times myself.
