New Nexus 7 changed from 4.3 to 4.2 after update ?

Hi i just bought the nexus 7 2nd gen 2013 and when i switched it on it said it was running 4.3 jellybean - then it prompted me to update and after it had completed it then said it was running 4.2 please can someone explain why this is so and should i stick with 4.2 or can i upgrade to 4.3 ?

This is strange.

Check under Settings and check for System update and let it update to 4.3 and then 4.4.2 which is the most current/official version of Android.

Read it carefully, it said 4.4.2. I highly doubt it downgraded to 4.2.x

your welcome. With all those damn numbers and decimal points they use for version labels it's easy to just look quickly and confuse it. :)
 
This was actually happening A LOT when kitkat first came out. Almost all tech sites where even calling it 4.2.2 so I wouldn't feel bad. It happens

I admit I've been guilty of calling kit kat 4.2.2 a few times myself. :)
