Hi folks

Ive been an avid Android user for some time now - originally with the Samsung Galaxy S and now with the excellent Google Nexus 7. Love the tablet. I just thought i would say hi.

Thanks guys. I was previously using a BlackBerry Playbook - loved the build quality but hated the software. I tried a few different browsers but I'm sorry to say that none of them even came close to the Nexus 7. I also have an iPad and I have to say that even the original iPad 1 iz still a very impressive machine and an equal to the Nexus 7 in everything except perhaps the operating system (unless you have it jailbroken).

I love using the N7 and I am now looking for a decent case for it that offers a high degree of protection without being too bulky.

So far I have resisted hacking the N7 and, if with the possible exception of USB OTG I honestly think I may stay plain vanilla.

Congratulations! Welcome to the Nexus 7 family.
I'm also a previous iPad used and this thing blows the iPad out of the water for me.
It's more practical and the OS is a lot more free.
I hope that you will be as happy with yours ad I am with mine!

I have read somewhere that unless you have root your usb key drive will be read only. Can anyone confirm that this is so?

Hi, welcome!
I currently don't have a case, but a good one is the one from Google itself! I don't know about the quality, but it isn't too bulky and keeps that nice rubberized feeling on the tablet's back. You can find it at play.google.com (sorry, don't have the exact link atm)
