Google to unveil Android 4.2, Nexus 4 phone, Nexus 10 tablet | Mobile - CNET News

Cnet is reporting that next week they will becoming out with three new models.
  • 32gb Nexus 7 (That we already know about)
  • A Nexus 7 with 3g cellular
  • Nexus 10 with price comparable to Samsung Tab 2 10
One of the big advantages of a 7" screen is swyping keyboards. You can do it with one hand, unlike a 10" model. It's also easier to carry with you. Do you prefer the 7" or a 10" Nexus?

One of the main reasons I chose the nexus was the 7" size. I find the bigger tablets too big and heavy.

Re: Sv: New Nexus Models

I'm enjoying the 7 inch form factor for portability. However, note that you can adjust the keyboard size to make it smaller. You don't necessarily have to let it fill up the screen on whatever size tablet you have. That's actually what I do on the Nexus 7 so I can swipe even quicker.

7" for me, thanks. The screen is plenty large enough for gaming, websurfing, and watching videos, the aspect ratio is perfect for most of the video I watch, and it easily slips into the back pocket of my jeans.

I actually took mine down to a volunteer wireless networking job I'm doing for my daughter's school last weekend - a friend had an iPad. I was able to access all the router configuration screens as easily as he could, but he was having to find places to set his iPad down where I was just slipping my Nexus in a pocket when I needed to go hands-free.

Add the fact that Android opens up the signal API so you can run apps like WiFi Analyzer and various signal analysis and mapping tools, and I was able to rapidly produce "before and after" heatmaps of the network to demonstrate the improvements we had made.

Sure, I could have used my HTC Thunderbolt, but a lot of the work was quite a bit easier on a 7" screen than a 4.2" screen. I don't think upping it to an 8" or 10" screen would have helped a bit, and it would have just made the thing too clumsy to actually use.

I'm not a big fan of 10". To big and bulky, can be awkward to hold. I like the 7", the size makes it a great device for personal use. I can see the 10" being used more for commercial and business since it is much easier to show displays for others.
