Hi all, not sure if anyone has posted this deal already but I came across it late last night and decided it was too good to pass on.

Samsung is offering up to $400 off with trade of the following:

Galaxy S7 Edge, S7, Note5 / iPhone 8 Plus, 8, 7 Plus, 7 / Google Pixel, Pixel XL / LG V20.

They also accept older phones for lesser credit than $400.

So with my S7E I get a $400 trade-in credit, which brings the price down to $550 +tax. Not bad for a new factory unlocked Note 8 direct from !

DON'T DO IT!!! DO NOT TRADE YOUR PHONE TO SAMSUNG! They will take your perfectly functioning phone, give you the $400, then charge you the remaining $400 once you are outside your return period and say your phone "didn't meet requirements". They'll also keep your phone. Their thieves of he highest order.

I read about some people having issues with this procedure with Samsung so what I was planning on doing is taking my S7E to the actual Samsung store in Los Angeles and Im going to record them looking the device over and confirming that it is in perfect working condition. I will record myself packing it up and taking it to UPS. All this would be one continuous uninterrupted recording and since Im going to be less than 10 min away from Samsung and UPS, it'll be a quick and simple process really. If the crap hits the fan and Samsung tries to pull that nonsense, I have this recording to back up my claim with Samsung but also more importantly it would cover me with my credit card company in case I need to file a claim for a bogus charge.

So thats my plan, I know nothing is 100% certain but I do think this would protect me in this deal.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up! Ill let you guys know how it turns out!

just get one from Best buy or Target for 300 off and sell your current phone on swappa

Unfortunately the $300 deal is only for Verizon and Sprint activation's and Im with ATT so it would be full price for me.

The deal you mention though is pretty damn good, $950 - 300 -300 = $350!

I traded in my Note 5 back in October. No issues. Paid my phone off in full this month.

Hey everyone

I traded in my awesome condition S7 edge international version for Note 8, during this exchange I was at a hotel and after three days thinking that hotel front desk would have given my package to Fedex guy , I was trying to track my trade-in phone and my track ID says invalid cut short the story the hotel front desk never handed over my package to Fedex.

After I asked the hotel front desk about my package, they apologized for the delay and sent the package with Fedex overnight keeping the Samsung return Label and the hotel label for quick transit(hotel account).

Now I have a proof of delivery and then I have my phone documented video testing all the sensors and buttons through Samsung own software. But Samsung says they dont have my trade-in device.

Precautions I took care of is , I used a prepaid card to book this phone(Note8) as I understood Samsung support sucks and I lost my patience and trust on Samsung support.

This would be my last Samsung device

Hope Nokia makes better customer support and devices soon...!!!

Make sure you do follow these :

Make a video of your phone .
take a pic your trade-in package.
Use only Samsung return RMA label.
After two days...once you send the trade-in device, call Samsung and check status.

Keep tracking and get ready for shocks lol

See a $300 not $400 credit. Am I missing something?

I'll look for some other deal. This Samsung offer has too many outs for the company. By the way, I'm an attorney. (I call myself a lawyer but for baffling reasons others suspect your not an attorney if you refer to yourself as a lawyer. So many experts on the internet.)

Plus, you can also post that video all over youtube, facebook and twitter and hashtag it too if you have problems.

I traded in my LG G4 on one of their older promotions where I got a $300 discount and a free Gear 360. I took video demonstrating that the phone was in good working order and emailed it to their promotions department when I placed the order and I got the discount applied with no problems.
