New phone: need Google photos as my default when I select to share from within app.

I just got my phone replaced via insurance. It is the exact same phone I had before and it's an LG Tribute HD....older LG phone but I'm good with it On my old device, I could go into Facebook, IG, or wherever and upload a pic in the app from Google Photos. Now, on my new device, it only gives me the option of whatever pics are on my actual device. Of course, I can go into the Google Photos app itself and click to share a picture, but this is way less convenient. I have scoured the settings on my phone and different apps but don't know where to find this option. I feel like it was a default on my old phone, but if it wasn't, it's been a year and a half since I set it and have 0% recollection of this. PLEASE HELP!

The option isn't there - it's a different version of the app.
