I'm going to post this in the Maxx forum as well in order to get opinions on both. But here's the deal I am a Droid X user and the Droid X was my first droid phone, I loved it but now its just slow and annoying and with an upgrade available. it is time for something new. I love the look of Samsung products and I know that they are usually good quality. So my question is why should I get the Nexus over the Maxx. I am a heavy user so the Maxx battery is enticing but from what i've seen the Nexus is more powerful and overall better any feedback would be greatly appreciated thank you.

The operating system, the screen, the form factor, the way storage works, etc... are all better on the Nexus.

I would get the Nexus.

What is better about the way storage works?

I don't know about you, but dealing with my wife's dx2 is really annoying with internal and sd storage. It's nice to have it all in one place, instead of split. Keeps things more organized imo.

I agree with this. "Move to SD card" was such a royal pain in the @$$.

To the OP: You are on a Nexus forum board. I hope you are expecting to hear 1344352566 posts saying nexus and bout 6 saying the MAXX because that's pretty much what you will get.

I love my Nexus, I wouldnt go back to anything pre-ICS now that I've had my hand in the cookie jar (err... freezer i guess). The max has plenty of things going for it, but true-HD, vanilla ICS, face-unlock, and timely updates are some things that it does not.

I've been using the ThunderBolt since March 19th, 2011 and I have never once used the "Move to SD Card" option. Not once. Pain in the ass? I don't think so.

Then you've obviously never run out of space on your thunderbolt.

My first venture into the android world was on an LG Ally, which happened to be the phone i got rid of to get the Nexus.

It has 150 MB of INTERNAL space.

how many apps is that? 10? 15 if u get some that are under 10 mb in size?

"move to SD card" became my most hated feature because 70% of the apps on the market could not be moved to the SD card, making me micro-manage what I had on my phone at all times.

So why do I say it was a pain in the rear-end? That's why. Be lucky you never have had to worry about it.

Think it just depends on you i came from the razr while it was a good phone i like the nexus more. Really like the camera compared to the razr very fast and for me the pics are clear. Cant say there is anything i miss really. Best thing to do go to a store and play with both of them. Dont believe the signal issues while the nexus shows less bars i have been able to hold a call everwhere i could with the razr. And im all over different oil field locations out in the woods

I'd probably get the RAZR MAXX if I had the choice now tbh. The battery life is insane. I only get about 2 hours of use out of my Galaxy Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus is a much better phone IMO, but the battery life on the RAZR MAXX is very impressive.

thanks for all the answers guys. I was concerned about the signal cause everyone was saying it is awful. I'm gonna go with the Nexus in a week or so and if i have signal problems I'll consider returning it. As for the battery, is there a good extended for the Nexus?

The extended battery isnt much bigger than the stock, but if you concerned at all with battery life it's worth the extra. Just ask about it when you get your phone.
