Sounds about right. 2 weeks after initial release date and not a single phone in a Sprint store, while Best Buy and Walmart are handing them out. Makes no sense to me at all and is a huge fail on Sprint's side for numerous reasons.

Not that I'm happy about a June 1st launch (like the rest I thought it should have been at least last friday) it kind of makes sense for June 1st. Do people who pre-ordered from Sprint stores get the phone before June 1st? Just wondering if anyone has heard anything. Thanks!

When all is said and done, they will likely sell a ton of EVO LTEs, but for the vocal faithful on site like this...pretty frustrating and poor execution by Sprint.

A telesales rep just told me that there's not been a date given but that "maybe this week it will be available." :-\

I agree. How can WM & Sprint get the phone but Sprint Stores can"t? Sprint needs to explain this.

What's even worse about all this is that apparently there is some mandate from Sprint or HTC forbidding stores from selling any extra phones they got. So, some places might have five or ten phones that aren't pre-orders, but they aren't allowed to sell them until a new release date is announced. WHY?! The first date is already passed, so who freaking cares?

Well Bb is sprints largest retailer period third party or not, wm is the largest retailer in the world. And both of them buy in such large volume that their shipments go directly from HTC to their distribution methods.
I was told this by a sprint car back in the Samsung instinct days.

Sent from my criffvo4g/lte that was smuggled through customs in a monkeys back fat.

I talked to a Sprint Executive outside of Customer Service and told her about the issues people are having with some companies shipping their preorders and others aren't without an official Sprint release date, and I told her some walk-in customers have been buying the phones in Walmart stores. She did some research on her computer and checked the "Sprint Community" page also, and she wasn't able to give me a release date right now. She said she will look into it and call me back when she gets a date. She also mentioned what "criffaaa1" did earlier in this thread... that Walmart and others have their own distribution from the manufacturer, so Sprint can't physically keep their inventory from being released. She sounded pretty frustrated about some people getting their 3rd party preorders and others not getting them due to Sprint not sticking to an official date. She said she also got one other phone call about the phone from someone (she shouldn't be getting any, lol).

I also emailed Wirefly and got the usual, "Sorry, here's a free bluetooth".

I also emailed HTC and got this...
"Dear (Name)
I understand how frustrating it can be to be forced to wait for a device when it has been pre-ordered, as is the case with the Evo LTE you are inquiring about. Please rest assured that HTC is working closely with U.S. Customs to secure approval for shipments of the HTC EVO 4G LTE. We have not made any announcements about a new launch date and will provide an update on availability as soon as we can do so confidently. HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval and get devices into customers' hands. We appreciate your patience. There is nothing wrong. It is standard US customs review process to ensure compliance with recent a patent ruling. HTC's phones comply with all requirements. This is an unforeseen delay and we are working closely with Customs to get the phones through the process and into customers' hands. If I can be of further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me again. We are available from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. EST 7 days a week. Have a wonderful day.
Let me know if I have successfully answered your question"

It sounds like HTC is either still struggling to get shipments cleared, or they are still spewing out the same cookie cutter response they used before the phones passed Customs.

I guess it is possible this is still a customs issue. If the are really having to every 100th device this could take a very long time to get significant amount through. I'm sure customs would wait until there was a sizeable chunk to check and not be checking realize as they are coming through. So, after the first batch was cleared they may not have cleared any additional phones.

june 1 isn't bad at all, that's only three days from here, I was worried about the whole late june rumors

Would make sense as best buy receives trucks Friday and Monday and Friday is June 1st

I did an in store pre-order at Best Buy and got a call on5/24 evening that they were in and Sprint had "released" them to sell to the pre-order customers. My store only had 6 pre orders and if the people didn't come for them, they were not allowed to sell them. Had lots of supplies on the shelves. Monday I called the local Sprint store because I wanted the car dock. They said they had it but no phones. I said it didn't matter to me because I already had the phone. Ran over and got the car dock and let the employees look at the phone, they haven't even had a hands on demo yet. At that time they had the display all ready, just didn't know when the phones would be arriving.

All while OTHER stores have people with day-one preorders and no phones or not enough phones to fill the preorders. You are right, makes no sense.

Yeah, I wonder if the reps are correct and the whole Customs issue was never completely resolved like we thought. If you remember, HTC made the announcement saying /some/ of their products were released from customs. We assumed that meant that the EVO was released and the One X wasn't or something like that, but what if it literally meant that only /some/ of the EVOs were released and they really are checking every single damn container of EVOs? That would explain the trickling in of phones and why Sprint isn't able to give an exact date yet. They want to make sure the rest are out of customs before they give a new date. If that's the case, we need to bombard that stupid Customs twitter again. This is freaking ridiculous.

I also find it really strange that ISN has been completely silent today except for some stupid post about iDEN going away.

Does anybody have any idea of when the phone will be available to Advantage Club members? A Sprint store rep didn't think they would be available until January, which seems a little long to me.
