New S2: quick question

Hello. I purchased a new S2 9.7" from Best Buy (Canada) today. Was surprised when a software update didn't populate. When I check it said Android Version 7.0

I'm thinking I got an opened box version and that I paid full price. These do not ship with 7.0, correct? Just need some confirmation b4 I call Best Buy. Thx.

If everything was wrapped in plastic like it should be, it's probably a new device and not a return. I don't know for sure to be honest. These tablets originally shipped in 2015 with Lollipop(5.0 or 5.1), I would imagine Samsung would put the newest version of software available on it when manufactured.

Because the update was released the newer ones will ship with the updated OS. Check to see when it was manufactured just to be sure

I got mine (the 8" version) from Best Buy two weeks ago, and it also shipped with 7.0. Outstanding! No blue light filter is the only downside.

Picked one up yesterday, did not ship with 7 but within an hour of setting everything up the updated came in.
