My new S7 edge will not accept the google password for gmail or play store. I am certain I am entering the correct password, but it continues to ask me to try again. When I start the play store, the phone says quickly, "Checking Info" and then goes to the "Enter the current password" screen. And then, it never accepts the password.

I have force closed play store, waited 1 day, cleared cache, and cleared data.

Gmail account works with Samsungs email app, but it is unusable.

Any other suggestions before I wipe it and start over? Also, if I wipe it, will I lose my activation of the phone number?
Thanks

Try changing password on Google via a PC and use the new one. Or create device specific passwords via 2 step verification.

Thanks for the reply, neither of those options work. The phone will not allow me to add a google account. It just keeps asking for a pasword.
