Less than 3 months after the roll-out of the Galaxy Fold6, Samsung have announced the release of their Fold Special Edition with a larger display and improved cameras as well as a slimmer profile. See...

Samsung officially reveals the 'Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition' with a slimmer design and a 200MP camera

No news on stylus support on this model and the battery stays the same as the Fold6's with its slow, 25W, charging. The 16GB of RAM is an improvement and matches the Google Pixel9 Fold2 which was increased to handle the upcoming AI features.

A comparison of the Fold Special Edition vs the Fold6 are shown, here...

Initially, the Special Edition will only be available in South Korea and China and available on the grey market. Speculation is that this model is to test the water and hopefully boost the flagging sales of the lacklustre Fold6 which has lost out to Chinese models such as the Vivo X Fold3 Pro Global and the Honor Magis V3.

So, what do you think? Is this the model that Samsung should have launched 3 months ago? Are you tempted by its features? Fold Special Edition.png

YESSSS this shoulda coulda.......if only the current fold 6 is specd like this upcoming special edition model. Now what do I do with the original foldd 6. I dont think it has stylus support.........does anyone know this to be true?

The 200MP camera and wider aspect ratio, and slimness is VVVVEEERRRRYYYY intriguing........But Ive already spent about 8000$ this month upgrading my computing tech so NO BUENO for this purchase........totally fine with the OG fold 6.

In all honesty......the current fold 6 should have been launched with the features of the SE plus stylus support. That would have been the best iteration yet!!!!! The OG fold 6 could have been even more wider to give us an experience like the pixel fold where the aspect ration is just like a regular large device.

Except the SE is thinner because it doesn't have Spen support. In order to get it thinner they had to take out the digitizer layer in the inner screen for the S pen, is what I understand.

In comparison, the Honor Magic V3 is much thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Fold Special Edition and has a bigger and faster charging battery whilst offering stylus support on both the inner and outer screens. This is the sort of competition that Samsung are up against.

See comparison...

It would have been nice if they had used that bigger space to replace the Li-Po 4400 mAh battery with the new SiC 5700 mAh fast charging, 100W, like their competitors... 31 min's 0%>100%.

Confirmation that the Korean version, (F958N), of the Samsung Galaxy Fold6 SE, (Special Edition), will work fine on the Global networks for most countries...

However, those in the USA will need to check with their carriers first...
