New Samsung S7 (~Nov-02-2016) Upgrade kills battery life. How to roll back?

Hi, I don't know the name of the upgrade but my Sprint S7 notified me around Nov 1 that an upgrade was ready. I downloaded and installed and now my battery drains (or appears to drain) in about 8 hours instead of my normal 24-36 hour charge-span. This is a significant and catastrophic decrease in battery life.

I'm wondering a couple things--#1 -- How do I roll back to whatever the previous version was. And secondly, is it possible they are simply covering their assess and rolling the Note 7 upgrade that simply tells you that "100%" charge is really only about a 35% charge?

I don't even know what the previous version was, but my new software is at G90PVPS4APJ2 Hardware Rev0.6; Android ver 6.0.1 and of course SM-G930P.

I was really impressed with the battery life of this phone up until a couple days ago when it went down the drain.

Thank you, that fits the symptoms. Follow up though--is this just a CYA thing where they had a problem with the Note and now they think the S7 might have an issue too? I mean, there were no warnings about the S7--only the Note7. Had I known this would have nearly halved my battery life I would have never, ever installed the upgrade.

Is it possible by rooting the phone to get back to that previous version?
Thanks,

I have pj2 and have noticed no such symptoms. Battery charges to 100% and haven't noticed any extra battery drain. Try and wipe your cache in recovery. I do that after every update.

Could the IP have a Note 7, not an S7?
That was what i was going to say, i got PJ2 and my battery life is actually better, it could also just be a coincidence and his charger took a crap on him and the timing is just right. I had a charger go out on my old Blackberry and the phone would say it was charged and it would drain really fast. I changed my charger and that fixed it.

One thing to try if you haven't already, and I'd recommend doing after each upgrade, is to wipe your cache partition.
Shut down your phone, then hold your Vol Up, Home and Power all at the same time and continue holding until you see Andy (Android). You will then come to a menu which you navigate using your Volume keys. Scroll down to the one title Wipe Cache Partition (careful, the one right above it is to Wipe/Restore the entire phone). Use the power button to choose the Wipe Cache Partition option and it will perform the task. Then choose Reboot. That has helped in the past to alleviate battery issue with a new update for me.

I got an update too and battery life stayed near same. You sure you got S7 and not Note7? Go to settings>about phone and post the details.

I haven't had an update since Sept. It degraded my battery life by at least 50%. No updates available since then :( I'm patient. I'm never too far from a charger and have a portable one if I need it (I haven't) but I'm sure hoping the next update (Verizon) will fix it. It wasn't as good as my S5 to begin with, now it's really bad!
ETA...I always wipe the cache after an upgrade.

If anything, this Oct Patch update made my battery life night and day better, + no more Wifi random disconnects + stronger cell reception (probably the reason why the battery life is better) as the Aug Security Patch I had before had horrible cell reception and battery life

My last update was Sept 23 (Verizon). Does anyone on Verizon have an update after this date?

well, i received updates to my Int'l S6 Edge + AND my Samsung A9000 and now BOTH no longer have a fast charging option... Both are GONZO...i thought i was crazy at first (and i still might be : ) but i noticed when i plug them in it no longer says that, and if i search in settings for "fast" no results come up... Noticed it about a month ago.... BTC

*edit*
k, so it turns out i AM crazy...lol My S6 Edge+ NEVER had "fast charging" and my A9 was somehow plugged in with a "non" fast charging adapter (my cats prolly "switched 'em while i was sleeping : ) so um, never mind...lol

My business partner and I got S7's at the same time and his Verizon version is still on the September security patch wheras my TMobile version is on November. Verizon needs to get it together!
