Android Central Question
Hi. I'm using a Nokia 5 running Android 8.1.0. andI recently bought a new SD Card (SanDisk microSDHC Card with A1 speed) to be able to move and use Apps in it since my previous SD Card (Kingston) was too slow.
I moved the few apps I had on the Kingston to the internal storage and then I ejected it. Afterwards, I installed and formatted de SanDisk card as internal storage (to be able to put Apps in it) and then tried moving some apps to check out the speed. There was no problem there.
The problem came when I tried connecting the phone to my Mac via the Android File Transfer app. It gave me the "MTP File Transfer error" although all of my settings were correct and worked fine with my previous card installed.
I thought maybe it had to do with some apps who still had some data stored on the previous SD card (like WhatsApp and apparently Dropbox), so I switched the SD cards, connected the phone to my Mac and copy all the files via the Android File Transfer app, which had no problem accessing my phone that time.
After that, I switched back the cards to try and copy back the files I'd just copied to my Mac, but again the File Transfer app couldn't access my device. I tried opening the files app within my phone, and it couldn't access the SD Card either. I deleted WhatsApp and Dropbox, but it didn't help. I reformatted the SanDisk SD card, but still no luck.
Any suggestions? I really want to use my new A1 SD Card to free up some space from the internal storage and be able to run apps smoothly. Is there any step I'm missing? Is there another way to copy the files I backed up in my Mac onto the new SD Card?
