dunno if its been discussed here but do you think the EVO is gonna get the new Sense UI that HTC unveiled on the Flyer tablet? i know we have the option for the SPB Shell 3D but i dont wanna pay $15 for an app, let alone a launcher!

any thoughts on this guys and gals?

I'd wait to see the reviews first. If it worth getting I will pay for it. I'll spend that on a couple of beers.

I downloaded it to try it out before I paid for it. I will pay for it if I like it..

However,

It is pretty laggy on my Evo. It does look nice but I have had to pull the battery twice so far. Trying to exit apps and go back to home seems to freeze it up.
Before this I cannot remember the last time I have had to do a battery pull.
I am rooted running a custom ROM and kernel so I do not know if that has anything to do with it.

I really like it.

I just bought it last night and I really like it. Running it on top of cm7 rc2 and Savage zen bfs 1.1.0 with interactive and its not laggy at all. Wasn't sure about the price, and its not so much about the 3d part as a really nice launcher imo.

Shell 3D is Gawd-awful laggy on a stock Evo. It also hangs without ever giving a FC dialogue box. In addition, it'll eat your battery in a nano-second. And, for whatever reason, it'll kick your "android.process.acore" into the stratosphere (it'll be one of your top 3 apps when it comes to juice usage). I'm not sure, but I *THINK* it's the people/contacts and calendar pieces of "acore" that is working overtime. That's the only two of the 4 or 5 things under it that could be working that hard...and it seems as though it's because of the animation. That was with getting rid of 90% of the default stuff Shell loads with (like a Flicker Gallery and animated wx).

I bought it....and unfortunately was about3 minutes late to return it. My bad. So, at least I get to be a crash test dummy for a lot of other folks.

I've done a full restore twice and have even tried to have a minimum of things loaded and it's still a pig. And their customer service is S L O W. Too three days to get an email response to a simple question.

I used to use some of their stuff on PalmOS. It was OK...but again was a power/memory hog.

Take this for what it's worth.
