So Vzw tech support told me to go get a new SIM card since I can literally sit and watch my 3G signal at home drop and then slowly come back; plus of dropped calls in good areas.

Is there a tangible benefit to this? Should I expect a better lock on 3G towers? Anything I need to do to my phone (ie backup)?

I just went throught the whole "new sim card" thing... it didn't help me one bit... I even ended up getting them to give me an entire different phone... still nothing got better.. I flashed new radios... still nothing.. I am convinced it's a hardware issue...
taking my gnex back after work today and getting either a razr or rezound.. it's sad though, because I really love the GNEX... just can't use it!

There are certainly some cases in which a SIM swap help issues. If it doesn't, demand a new phone.

tried that too....
then vzw tech made me switch the phone to CDMA mode only... he said that would help... (it didn't)

I should have added tech support told me to get a new card because my phone auto-dials *22899 and my PRL has now changed to 52686. I read somewhere that 15xxx is better (or something).

my PRL is 52686 too... never heard it was an issue...
hmm... now you've got me thinkin...
