New software update (1.16.617.6)

There is a new software update available, downloading now. I'm on the US unlocked version. Looks like it's also rolling out to Sprint version according to AC article.

Finished downloading, already experiencing the placebo effect of phone being more smooth after the update

Looks like HTC Alexa now works on long squeeze etc but I like and prefer Google Assistant so don't care about Alexa. Other than that I'm not seeing anything new.

Also, security update is still on June. Was hoping HTC would push the July security patch in this update.

Yeah I got this today along with the HTC Alexa update from play store. Probably it would have popped up for me as well if I went and checked for an update manually but never knew there was one out.

I thinks it's basically just the Sprint version of the same update. Alexa support and June security patch.

Anyone having problems with seeing 5.0ghz networks after this update? I can't seem to find mine at home although my Chromebook can get to it and my old htc 10 can as well. I've rebooted the router and the phone both.

Was on it previously as I was super impressed with the speeds I got from it vs the 10.

5Ghz was an issue even before the update came. It is kinda sticky and doesn't work if you are away from the router.
