New to Android and Note 3... several questions.

I got my note 3 on Friday and have been struggling with it all weekend. I had iphones the last 4 years so Android is a bit of a change for me.

Can anyone tell me if I can add the camera, timer, and calculator to the lock screen? I'd like to be able to quickly access these features without having to unlock the phone.

In chrome, is there anyway to add a forward button in the browser bar? Right now I'm just going into settings to click forward but I find this tedious everytime.

Also in chrome, is there a way to quickly scroll to the top of a Web page? In iOS I just clicked the top and it would scroll up there fast.

What are all of these notification icons along the top of the screen? The Gmail one never disappears despite the fact that it isn't checking my email at the time. The watch-on purple TV icon keeps returning too. Today the download icon has been displayed all day even though I opened and deleted the one file I downloaded. Why do these icons keep staying at the top of my screen? There is also a briefcase icon with a checkmark inside, I don't know what it is for.

Is there anyway to change the size of app icons on my home screen? I'd love to put more icons on each page, but android likes to spread them out and limits me to only 12 icons if I keep the Google search bar on the main screen too. Seems like I should be able to fit more icons per page with such a huge screen!

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but these are the issues I've had so far. Thanks for your help!

You probably just have to drop down the notification bar and clear it. Some will go away, I'd disable watch on if you don't use it.

Without changing the launcher, I don't think you can change icon size, or add rows/columns to let you add more apps

I don't see that option unless I get rid of my password. Is there a way to keep my password and add shortcuts?

One more question, in S note, how do I get my handwritten notes converted to text? I can't find where to turn on handwritten recognition.

Goto settings, Controls, Language and Imputes. Click the setting icon next to Samsung keyboard. Then scroll down to Pen Detection turn it on

on the note 2 you open a new note and click on the "T" icon, with the handwriting enabled in settings, you will then handwrite in the box that opens up in the place of the keyboard and it is converted to text in the note.

I googled around and can see that Tap to Top feature is missing in the "Motion" settings of Note 3, not sure if this is removed recently? I am new to Android/Note 3 too. Miss this feature from my iPhone. Heres a Youtube link showing how to do it earlier: How To Use Double Tap To Top Feature For Android [Android Features Episode 2] - YouTube
