As the title implies, I am a convert after 13 years. Anyway, initial setup was (mostly) flawless with one rather annoying exception.

Everything is stored in Microsoft services; email, calendar, tasks, and contacts. For the life of me, I can't get my contacts to sync and appear in the Android contacts app. That makes texting and setting contact favorites rather difficult.

Am I missing something? Have others had success and would they mind sharing how they did it?

In the same boat matey.

Got the GS8 a few days ago and have since berried my Lumia 950XL in the back garden, because I dunno if you've heard... Window Phone is Dead!

I was also struggling getting my outlook contacts to show, after downloading the outlook app and playing around with the settings i finaly got them up and running. Sorry I can give the exact method I used.

Dunno about you but I really would like to keep using my Microsoft Services, outlook email & calendar, cortanna, onedrive etc

This is a good way to transfer you outlook contacts to your gmail account.

However if you would rather keep using your outlook account as you main mailler, I would suggest downloading the Outlook app & setting up your outlook account then go to settings within the app and click on you outlook email address under accounts and switching on Sync contacts.

after that you will need to go into your contacts app > settings > contacts to display > and select outlook

then head to Manage contacts > Sync Contacts > and select which accounts you want to sync

I hope it was a proper funeral.

I had the Icon and moved back to Android (HTC) then iPhone. I've since came back into the Galaxy fold. To get Outlook contacts to work you need to go into Settings -> Accounts and set up the Outlook and OneDrive account. The contacts app will then pull the Outlook contacts in.
