New To Android. Is gps free.

I searched all across the internet and I couldn't find an answer. I'm new to android and I was wondering if the gps was free. Every website I went on had mixed answers so I thought I'd come to the professionals lol. I am upgrading to the droid x on july 15 and I cant wait!

It's free on most higher-end phones from Verizon now - Google Maps on my Blackberries uses it just fine. Android is nicer in that you get turn-by-turn directions so you can use it in the car a lot easier. For whatever reason I think you still need to manually enable it in the phone setup. I suppose we can call it a privacy feature...

If you mean Navigation software (i.e. Map + Directions), then the Google Nav app is free and available on all Android phones; and is awesome!

Yep, my SIL and her hubby both have droids and use it all the time!!!
