Hey all,

So I've been an iPhone user for over 4 years, finally decided to try out the HTC One. I'm learning still, but what wondering how I can replace the icons on the dock? I'd like to change them but can't figure out how...

Thanks!

Not familiar with HTC sense 5 myself yet. But usually I would download a home replacement launcher to any android phone I get. My go to is Nova launcher. But Apex is pretty good as well.

I find it easier to customize the look and feel of my home screens, including the dock and its behavior by doing this.

Yeah you will need to go to "Apps" then just drag off the Icons you don't want on your Dock then just drag the new ones there you can also create a folder and put multiple Apps with in it then place the folder to your Dock as well. :)

Oh I see!! Thanks for that tip, gonna watch this video and see what I'm missing out on! Thanks guys. The only thing that frustrates me about the phone is the email setup, my main account is an iCloud mail account I've been using for ages... and it doesn't want to push the mail, or even setting it to fetch does nothing, I have to manually go into mail and update..

So you have it set to Push mail and your not getting mail as they come in??

Yep, looks like no push from iCloud. I just made a @outlook email address and have my icloud forward there and set up the @outlook as exchange for Push. This is what I did find on setting up iCloud on Android though by user markoustic:
My story was the same as yours, I spent over an hour on the phone to apple technical support who kept passing me on to more senior advisors, eventually I was given a link to this page: <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864?viewlocale=en_US> which states the servers and settings to be used in order to get iCloud/MobileMe mail working on 'your device' this didnt work either for my mac or my Galaxy nexus. After much investigation, I found that the imap address I was allocated was 'p04-imap.mail.me.com' by setting mail up with my account on a different computer running Lion. I am running leopard, sadly, on mine. I was able to set up the email on my computer using this. I had to select it as an 'IMAP' email account when setting it up instead of a 'MobileMe' account and manually input all of the servers and settings.

I have now managed to get iCloud/MobileMe email working on my galaxy nexus. As others have mentioned, push email is not supported with iCloud on andriod, but pull seems to work fine for me as my primary email adress is a Gmail account which works absolutely seemlessly in ICS 4.0.2. The settings I am using for iCloud are as follows:

Incoming Settings:
Username: xxxx@mac.com
Password: New iCloud compliant password (capital letter, number etc.)
IMAP server: p04-imap.mail.me.com
Port:993
Security Type: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Settings
SMTP Server: smtp.me.com
Port: 587
Security Type: None
Require sign-in: YES (tick)
Username: xxxx@mac.com
Password: New iCloud compliant password (as above)

I have tested both incoming and outgoing mail and they both work fine. I have not experienced any problems so far, however, I have only just managed to get it working. I suggest you find out which pXX number you are allocated as I know mine is p04. I found mine out from mail on a different computer, I don't know how else you could find this?...

I hope this will help to solve the problem for anyone out there experiencing the same issues. If anyone reading this has only a @me.com email address, changing the usernames above to @me.com should not cause a problem, but I can only guess at this being as I used .mac mail when it was first rolled out and so @mac.com is my original email address.

Thanks for your patience in reading this long reply but I hope it helps!

Here's another question I have. All my contacts were in iCloud, so I used SmoothSync to get them, and yesterday I imported my iPhone backup. Now I duplicates everywhere, and no matter what I try, I'm still stuck with duplicated, even when linking them. Is it possible to merge them all so that I only see 1 instance of a contact?

Check your accounts you have. There may be two that are syncing in the same info. If that is the case, just turn one of them off for the contacts sync.

Thanks, last night what I did was remove my SmoothSync to iCloud, fixed all the duplicate contacts in iCloud, and then just synced through the HTC Sync Manager with my computer. Seems to have worked!

I have another Android newbie question. When using headphones, is it possible to skip songs with the remote? I'm used to iOS, double click and skip, triple click to go back... anything similar? Double click calls the last number dialed...

Contacts are still all screwed up... Got to work and realized that I now only had 1/2 the contacts I did last night... I have no idea how to get around this.

I had this issue when I moved to the S3 a while back. In the long run I just went through my iCloud and added them to my Gmail contacts and stopped using iCloud. I even eventually got a iPad Mini and for that I just deleted all my iCloud contacts and imported them from gmail, so now they are in parity. It was time consuming... but I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to that stuff and find some pleasure in the end result being clean :)

Anyone know of a good site for high quality wallpapers? I'm struggling to find a site that offers this resolution vertically. I hate having a low-quality wallpaper, especially on this screen! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I like the app PicSpeed. The UI is a bit crude, but they have lots of very nice wallpapers at high res and best of all it's free. Be sure to choose the 'Max Size' option if downloading wallpapers for use on your One!!!

Wallbase and Zedge are 2 of my favorite wallpaper apps for Android. They both have a great selection of wallpapers, with Wallbase having a ridiculously large assortment to choose from.
