New to Android with LG Ally

Hi, my name is Pam and I'm a former BB Tour owner. I've owned the LG Ally for just about a week now and I like it pretty well. Only thing I miss is the BBM.

This site was very helpful in getting my new phone as everything I had questions about/Googled led me to this site. I have a couple questions, but I'm going to surf the forums a bit more to see if I can find some answers before I start asking around.

Don't worry too much about BBM - even among those with Blackberries everyone I know uses IM instead. Why limit yourself to just sending messages to people with Blackberries when you can send them to anyone using Google Talk, AIM, etc.? Plus you can decide to respond on the phone or on the PC. Encourage people to install Google Talk on their Blackberries and you'll never miss BBM

Yep, hubby and I have convinced some of our friends to use the Google Talk. We like the application...it works well.
