I was contemplating, back in the day, getting a G1 from Tmobile. Now I've got an LG Optimus V, finally, after having a bad experience with Blackberry from Boost Mobile. It was a Curve 8330 and it was buggy and had little to offer from its app store back in 2010. I love my LG and it does a lot of cool things stock. I'm considering doing a ROM but it will be used for important things like my work. I will probably take the warning to heart to not flashing it if it's used for something important. I only have one job and it's on call and as a contractor, I get paid per call not per hour so it's not a "steady" income but it's something. I think I'll end up getting another Virgin Mobile phone, like the Motorola Triumph or something and flash that thing and use that for fun. Not sure. Right now I have to watch my money. But I do plan on reading a bit on here and conversing with fellow Android users. It's great to know that people do offer something like this. At the very least I'll learn something, make new friends and have some fun conversation.

A bit about me: I've been online since 1993, not counting BBS type stuff. I was a computer science major at one time, then I discovered networking/PC Tech stuff. My major is not along the lines of the latter and I might delve into the security aspect as well. My advisor offered that as an option. I'm a senior and have changed majors and gone to school enough to wear the Pell grant won't pay for it anymore. I also like science and if I wasn't land locked I'd most likely do marine biology. Currently living in Utah with family. I was born Mormon but then resigned from the LDS church due to my newfound beliefs. I'm basically agnostic. I have hobbies like digital photography and hiking and even play sports from time to time. I also dabble a bit in Second Life and geek type stuff. In the 90s I was into OS/2 and then got into Linux. For a long time, I used Gentoo when the install was all CLI that you followed in a new login window that let you read it with links while in the other shell you ran the commands. I've forgotten a lot of linux stuff over the years thanks to a few traumatic brain injuries. Yeah, I'm accident prone when it comes to that. Now I get dizzy spells when I stand up from sitting down or lying down, quite often. Luckily, I was a smart kid growing up so doctors have told me in the past that because of that I'm able to progress as much as I have. My TBI was so bad before that I had to go through speech pathology, memory therapy, and cognitive therapy at a local hospital. Fun stuff. It was actually painful going through that therapy in a physical way. My brain was FUBAR.Basically, other than fun and socializing, this is my therapy along with video games though my reflexes are much better than my cognitive right now. My last concussion was in 2011 and in 2010 a concussion sent me to the ER where I was released to be under watch for complications and listed as a "closed head injury" but doing ok. Once you get a TBI (traumatic brain injury), new concussions come more easily each time. I can still drive thankfully but am officially "disabled" even though I know more than the average joe/jane about computers and a few other things.

I just realized this is a novel of an intro. Well, it's nice to know ya and look forward to chatting it up.
