Had a Palm Pre and loved the OS, just couldn't continue to put up with the build quality. Upgrade was up a couple months ago, and I decided to check out what Android offerings Sprint had... Picked up the Optimus S, and so far I'm loving this phone.

A couple things... I'm not afraid to root a phone, as long as there are plenty of others that have done things to their phone and it works with nearly no bugs that would effect this as a primary phone.

Beyond that, what should I be looking at, what apps, any suggestions or things I should be looking at?

What does this ThundeROM actually DO for us? I read the post fully from the author of it, but it didn't tell my noob butt what it would 'do' for me.

I know it's alot, but as a new android user, it's been alot to take in the last two days. Any of your advice is more than welcomed and appreciated.
