New to Droid from BB

New to Droid after a long time with Blackberry.

I must admit I am totally lost.
So forgive me when I ask stupid questions

First off is there something like a desk top manager for Droid ?

Welcome to A/C.

Nope. You can backup everything using apps and it will backup to your SD card.
To sync contacts, just go into your gmail and export them then go to outlook and import them or vice versa.

There is a desktop app to sync between Outlook at Google. It'll make everything automated without needing to connect your Droid via USB.
