Have EVO HTC 4g and I want to know how watch netflix via a hdmi cable

Welcome. When I had the EVO I remember the hdmi out being a little buggy. I didn't use it with Netflix, but I did use it quite a bit with YouTube.

I had the most success by plugging in the hdmi cable before opening the YouTube app. HDMI would display in the status bar then I would play the video. The phone screen went black and the video played on the tv.

Not sure if Netflix works the same way.
