New to the Android

Hi, just got a brand new ATT SGS2 from Sam's the other day for $.96. This is my first smart phone period, A little bit about me, I'm an average tech user, if there's a clear instruction mostly I can follow lol.
As with all ATT phone is filled with bloatware, I need to start this right.
1. I would like to clear my phone from all of the useless bloatware
2. Need to back them up to restore for warranty if needed.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, with so many variation out there, I just need one that is proven and easy to follow without some exotic software. ps not really uptodate with the programmer lingo either sorry there will be lots of silly question. Thanks
