New to the forum, google brought me here

I've been an avid android user since probably 2011 or so. I stumbled upon this forum when I went down a rabbit hole of questions trying to figure out how to get MMS working on an unlocked metro phone that I'm trying to use on the t-mobile network. Someone suggested that I install firmware via odin. I've never done that before, so I searched, and the results weren't related to my question, but I saw that people here and pretty productive conversations about other subjects. So that's why I'm here! I'll go find the appropriate sub forum and make a more detailed thread.
