New to this but want to do it on my AT&T HTC One

Good afternoon,

I have the AT&T HTC One. I would like to root it and load a custon ROM. I'm not exactly sure how to do it but I plan on watching a little YouTube. Just a few quick questions.

Does anyone have suggestions for YouTube links?
How about suggestions for ROMs?
Once I do this, would the google play store still be how I upload the apps? If so, how do you load google play? If not, how do you get apps?

Any help would be awesome. I am going to search YouTube now. I do a bit better watching it rather than reading the step-by-step instructions.

This guy is awesome at explaining things. Both links have YouTube videos. Definitely watch the entire video! Follow every direction step by step and you'll be happy. As far as Roms go, I've converted to Google Play Edition and never looked back. I know people like ViperOne and Android revolution HD. I've been wanting to try MoDaCo switch but haven't been able to unlock my bootloader after 4.4.2 ota. Happy rooting!

Any questions that you can't get answered post em. I did the HTCdev unlock three times while converting to GPe and there a are lots of people who are active and have lots of knowledge on fastboot and adb. I gave become quite the expert myself in the last year or so.

Yes, you just need to flash the Gapps along with the ROM you're using
