Under the about settings click build number 7 times to enable developer functions. If you're phone is locked by a carrier it prolly won't force the update though.

Ah that easy eh, already done that then, and installed twrp on it and all. Mine is unlocked too, and nothing. Maybe it's another US only thing.

You buy it as a developers unit. But I have read that it can be converted to a developers unit but don't know how.

Download states 2.6 but it is 2.8. After update you will see that it updated to 2.8.
