Looks like lollipop has destroyed my z3c or os it the new sony upgrade which has turned my adorable z3c into a disgusting apparatus.

Two things.

1. Is there a way to go back to the z3c I had? Will the full reset option do the trick?
2. Can one downgrade either to kitkat from lollipop or the previous version of the sony UI?

Your help is very much needed. After the upgrade even the clock looks lousy!!

I am ready to throw my phone into the sea...

Any ideas to save the day?

Hi there and nice to have found you...
Rooting hmm? Isn't that way too dangerous? And really what does the master reset option do? Only clear data?

A hard reset will just clear your data, not reset the firmware.

I've never used it, but there is a tool for burning different versions of the firmware for Xperia phones. You don't need root to use it.

This links to a tutorial for putting Lollipop on your phone, but I assume you can use it it to flash other versions.

I'm not wild about Lollipop, but once I figured out how to customize a couple of things, I'm happier with it.

Thanks very much Ben, I will sure give this a try.

To sum up, it is not the colours of lollipop which drive me mad (which they sincerely, most honestly do) but namely the following:

A. No widget function for locked screen
B. No notifications for locked screen (the space previously available for notifications is now occupied by the network provider!!)
C. No numbers dial pad when clicking the phone app.
D. No clear all apps function
E. Chrome now crashes (yes it does)
F. Ah, I almost forgot... Lollipop has brought about the additional user functionality... Say what? Somebody please inform Google that a mobile is the single most personal device in the world. Who cares about adding a new user?

Any customizations on those maybe?... (Rhetoric question?)

B. There are notifications on the lock screen, and when you double tap it opens.
C. When you open the phone app click on the pink icon on the bottom to open the dial pad
