Try it again. I had another update after the initial Lollipop update. Version number did not change though. The second update helps with stability and battery life it seems.

I am afraid that as there are 37 different models of Galaxy S5 that have had around 160 different Lollipop firmware releases worldwide, that without your model number and carrier any comments are meaningless.

I just had the exact same issue. Did an OTA update (also for stability improvements) and after the update which appeared to have been completed successfully, (i.e. it said the update was 100% complete, and all 300+ apps were restored) but after the phone restarted, it said that the update failed. There doesn't appear to be a way to do the update again through Kies (which was one of the suggestions my phone provided), and if I go to "About Device" and try to do the update again, it says the latest update have already been installed. So did the update really fail or not? And if it did, how can I actually redo it?

Getting a second update on Rogers right now, 283mb in size. Got lollipop about three weeks ago and haven't had any issues. Fingers crossed... Will compare screenshots of the About Device pages shortly.

Two screenshots, before and after indicate a newer build. Not sure what differences there are, but it was a good sized update

No problems though? After your phone restarted, you didn't get an annoying "software update failed" message like I did?

I'm on UK O2 and got another update this morning at 5 am, ending in BOC7.

Anyone spotted any changes? Or is it merely going to make my phone usable again, as opposed to the laggy, freezing, crashing pos it is right now? I'm so sick of lag and stutter my next phone will not be Sammy unless they sort this out. Sure my HTC One M7 wasn't like this...

You are on the very latest Samsung unbranded release, OC7 build date 16th March, the third for the UK in 9 weeks. This has the highest changelist, #4469118, of any firmware to date. Whilst Samsung do not post actual changelogs, there have been a lot of improvements to this firmware. The fully charged notification screen has been removed. The Mute button and screen pinning are present as per the earlier OB7 release. Wi-Fi has been beefed up and now connects immediately on boot. Compared to, say, the old Lollipop version that Verizon chose to release on changelist #3846539, there have been a lot of under-the-hood enhancements, not least of which is battery life on this version. There have also been improvements to both the kernel and modem. We will be seeing a lot more releases by Samsung to the unbranded and lightly carrier branded international models that will be based on this latest release. For more information about your model of S5, see, 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

Ironass, can I have a photo of you? I want to stick it above my bed.

Thanks for the info!

My S5 has gone from being almost unusable to working great again!

*look Ma, no lag!*

Anyone experiencing lag stutter and crashing, this update seems to fix it.

This latest release for the UK international, unbranded, SM-G900F, is, IMHO, the mutts nuts, the dogs danglies!

I made the statement, here...

"There can be no doubt that one area that Samsung excel at is their policy of continual improvement and updates to their firmwares."

It took Samsung 3 updates in 9 weeks but they got there! :)

Any idea when this will be released officially OTA? Thank you for the help.

Samsung are not hanging about. They've already just started to release OC7 to both unbranded and lightly branded international G900F phones for Israel. As per 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide it depends on your model of phone and whether you are branded or unbranded or have a carrier minority variant.
