new updates on Samsung S7 causing: "unfortunately ____ has stopped working" error and crashing

Hi, I have VZ, plain old samsung s7, nothing special, not rooted and had several updates I'd been postponing that were allowed to run over the last week, it would update, then an hour later, said I needed another one, so over the course of a week, I allowed them to all update my phone and even chatted with Vz about it and they said it could be various apps, samsung, google and Vz all trying to update at the same time, that my phone appeared to be up to date. The latest one being: g930vvru2apg5. I now notice that I'm getting random pop up ads that take up the whole screen and say random messages like: An Embedded page at: s3.amazon.aws.com says: congratulations, you won a new IPHONE (which are disabled in my browser and settings) and now random apps crashing saying: "Unfortunately, Snap chat has stopped working" or "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working" or "Unfortunately, Gmail has stopped"....

I uninstalled the webview app, as I saw that was an issue on previous platforms, but it only removed the latest update of the app, instead of actually uninstalling.

snap chat was the first to error and so I uninstalled that (as well as instagram, the latest two apps that I had installed (installed them months ago, yet the error just appeared, but wanted to be sure)) and have left those two apps uninstalled while I figure out why the pop up ads are still going and then, I got the gallery and gmail errors. Since I just started getting these after the update, I'm trying to search out what else was with this update, besides DT Ignite, radio and webview, which I tried to disable and removed the ability to "auto update"...

When I get the errors above, the recently used apps are usually Chrome, but I can't uminstall chrome. I did clear cache and data, which was no help.

Any other suggestions?
I was going to do a factory reset, but that rarely seems to solve anything, based on what I've read, due to the fact that my samsung and google accounts will likely just reinstall whatever it is that's causing the issue.

Mod Note, I will move this to the s7 forum for more visibility
