Anyone know if the Evo is getting the new version of sense that the desire z is getting? I would love the app switching in the notification bar and the options on htcsense.com

Usually I don't do much predicting... But i'm going to say HTC will be good to us and give us the new version of Sense in the future.

I personally don't think Sprint has a choice. They would probably strong arm HTC into getting it to us on evo. We pay an extra $10 a month for the evo. Sprint claims this is NOT for 4g, but rather for a "premium phone". If new things come out that we don't get and other Sprint phones do, I would imagine we could claim we no longer have a "premium phone".

We may not have the space to install it on our phones but you never know what can be done. Maybe we'll end up with a stripped down version of the update. There's just no way to tell yet, it might not even be a thought. I have faith in the custom development community though...

Well, the $10 is for "premium data", not as a guarantee that we'll always have the newest phone. I would think that the EVO is new enough that it'll get the latest version of Sense, but I don't think it's because of the $10 charge.

The mandatory $10 premium charge is because the EVO is categorized as a phone that is data hungry. Having the next version, or not having it, won't change this classification.

The EVO will get the next version of Sense. It's specs are as good or better than the G2, and HTC will want most of their phones to take advantage of the, soon-to-be-opened, htcsense.com Web site.

Here is a video stating that the new sense will be coming to the Evo, Inc and Desire Z... it's here being demoed on the Evo.

YouTube - HTC's NEW Sense UI (Coming soon to Evo 4G, Droid Incredible, Desire HD)

That's not stating anything, it's a leaked ROM that that website put on the EVO. Nothing confirmed about the new Sense coming to the EVO. Plus I take what Android and Me says with a grain of salt, since one of those guys told me the FPS was never coming, and when they mentioned the latest HTC rom update it would not have the FPS fix. However it did... So again, let's wait for some better sources to confirm this.

Until it comes out of HTC's mouth it's not happening in my opinion. There's no reason to believe they will put it out for the EVO.

Wow ... either the person recording that has a serious coke problem or should step away from the red bull. Really, needlessly flipping screens like that almost made me sick watching. When he's not flipping screens he's talking with his hands so much It's almost impossible to pay attention to the phone.

Sense is by far the best ROM over Android. I'm sure we can all agree.

Haw! I wish we could all agree. I keep trying out different Sense ROM's and keep going back to ASOP. CM6 is just so much smoother than any other Sense ROM I've tried.

I don't know what "smooth" is supposed to mean. I don't see any additional smoothness whatsoever.

And I much prefer all the features and the look of Sense. I can't give that up, despite some downsides (like bluetooth weirdness).

i enjoy sense, i find myself going back to sense roms (my daily is EViO ) but i wish the sense home screen could auto rotate, i kind of enjoy the whole phone running in landscape when i'm sitting at a table using it.

it's not a deal breaker by any stretch but just something i would like to see added at some point. i'm excited about the new version of sense and hopefully the Evo gets an official version of it (or the local android dev's get a working port :D )

i like the integration with facebook and twitter, as well as the contacts app and all of the sense widgets, i dunno everything just feels cleaner and more organized.
