He just made an video showing the comparison of the S8 to the Note 8 info we have so far.

I do agree with him though if you don't really use the spen and already have the S8 Plus there really isn't a reason to have to upgrade. The phone is basically identical except for the dual camera.

I will probably have an itch for the Spen, but already having the s8 Plus I'm not in a hurry to pre-order and pay full retail for it. I will probably wait until Best Buy gets the unlocked version and runs some promo on it like a Best Buy giftcard or has it on sale. If it's like the S8 then in a couple months Samsung.com and Best Buy will have promos on it.

If the 64gb price is $940 USD as rumored I won't bite until there is a promo or sale on it.

However, if Samsung didn't release the S8 Plus and used smaller phones for the s8 I would bite right away. I was using the S7 Edge and the screen was just too small hence why I jumped all over it. The S8 Plus is serving me well so far.

I think Samsung would sell more Note 8s if they didn't release the S8 Plus, BUT with the Note 7 debacle Samsung needed to get a large screen model released to bridge the gap.

I was a loyal note user since the 2nd model came out. I should've waited and kept the S7 edge but wanted a bigger screen. that's why I got the s8 plus. so now I'm in debate because I svsok love the s pen. to give it up last year sucked. I'll end up going for it and trade in my s8 plus only if it's reasonable enough to do so. personally my s8 plus I've replaced 3 times in 4 months. wifi issues Bluetooth issues. battery sucks etc. so I'll likely get it. we shall see tomorrow

I'm kind of underwhelmed by the Note 8. It is a phenomenal phone, but it is so similar to the S8+ that this phone just wasn't exciting to learn about when unveiled. I would rather have it than the S8+, but I am leaning towards the Essential phone instead of either.

That is the thing with the S8 Plus. A big screen phone that is cheaper than the Note and similar. A lot of people who bought the S8 Plus are not going to shell out more $$ to upgrade to the Note 8. I mean the typical person, not the small percentage of us on here who spend $$$ and watch hours of youtube videos about this stuff.

Also, with the S8 Plus deals it might have tapped into the Note 8 market.

However Samsung needed the S8 Plus because with the Note 7 recall they had no large screen flagship device to Compete with cRapple. The S7 Edge wasn't a large enough screen.

I do wonder if the S8 Plus was already in the works before the Note 7 recall, or if the regular S8 was the only planned phone to be released, but with the Note 7 recall Samsung decided to make a larger s8?

Samsung needed an S8 Plus. If no Note 7 recall I think Samsung could have just released the standard sized S8 with the Note 7 holding everyone off until the Note 8.

Many Note users like myself bought the S8 Plus because we were sick of the S7 Edge and for me I didn't like the V20 and the LCD screen. After using AMOLED screens since 2011 it sucked using the V20.

I think the S8, S8 Plus, and Note8 all fill their roles well. I just think maybe if they all launched at the same time it might be better since the Note line will probably mostly be getting incremental upgrades from now on.

Don't they all get 2 major upgrades and that's it? That's what the Note 5 got.

He did an updated video today. He thinks if you have the s8 Plus and don't care about the Spen he doesn't think you need to upgrade to the Note 8 or if you want a new phone but don't care about Spen then snag the S8 at a good price. What does this dude do for a living? He seems loaded! He cracked the screen on his s8 Plus so just went and bought outright the S8 at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. Look at his car too.
