OK a few questions:

* I just purchased a LG Optimus Slider for my wife, she's currently still using a Palm Centro.
* I am currently using a Motorola Triumph, and am running CM7 reloaded 3-25. I have a little experience rooting a phone, but not much.
* My wife will want a device that works without hiccups.
* How obtrusive, slow, and an energy hog is the stock ROM?
* Would it be worth my while to install a different ROM?
* Which ROM would be most stable, and retain most if not all the phones original capability?
* How difficult is a non stock ROM to install on this phone, my Triumph was so simple, install CWM recovery, and you've done the hard part.
* Is there anything else I should know about this phone to set my wife up the way she'll need to to be happy with her first Android experience (she did just get an Asus slider).

If you've gotten this far with this post, thanks, and thanks to all for their experience on the above topics.

Yes its worth it.
Its simple.
Root your phone.
Instal cwm.
Then flash any compatible rom/kernel and or theme.

Sent from my LG Optimus Slider running Gelato 11 28/ Gingerkernel7.1. Theme:ICS

honestly, the stock rom is running FINE. Just use titanium backup to freeze some apps or delete. Even the stock kernel works great.

i installed the ginger kernel and really see no difference. i wanted to go back to the original kernel but i don't want to hassle with my backups and redo everything.

phone seems perfect, can't really see how it could get any better... Well a sound boost would be great.
