New Xfinity TV app...

OK, so I downloaded the new Xfinity TV app and set it up with my account, channel listing, and even renamed the TV's. Everything seems to work OK, but I can't figure out how to get it to record a show.

I only have 1 DVR. When I go to the channel listing and tap on a show it brings up a screen with a picture of the show and a brief description of what the particular episode it about. Right under the picture in an option for me to tap that says "Watch on TV" Other than that, there is no option for me to record the show.

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Have been playing with it this morning as well. Are you certain it has recognised your DVR? I get the same screen but with the addition of a record button.

This looks like a nice start. Hopefully they integrate the DVR Manager in to the app like the other Xfinity application. Right now it just jumps to the browser and the online manager.

I don't understand why they didn't merge the apps together. the only addition i see to this app is the ability to change the tv channel. Why not just add this to the other app so there is only one app??

My guess is company politics. Like many larger companies, I would guess that Xfinity Mobile and Xfinity TV are two different parts of the company. Each with their own budgets, development, support, etc. They overlap here and there and, in the end, have the same company goals in mind, but they each go about it in their own ways.

Hopefully the TV app will mature with updates that add the functionality more seamlessly. I'll be on the lookout for updates!
