Hi guys,

I just got a Samsung S8+ a couple of days ago. I am coming from an Iphone 7. One of the things I had to do to switch was import my music from itunes to my phone. I used a program called doubletwist to do it. Now, when I am in my car and the phone connects to the radio, it wants to use the doubletwist app as the music player. I would prfer to use the google music player (I don't know if there is a stock one on the S8). Anyways, how do I make Google Music the default app for music? Can't seem to find the setting anywhere.

Go to Apps, App manager and you should be able to select Google Music as the default app for music.

Hi!

I see Google play music in the list of apps and when I click on it it goes to a sub menu with multiple things you can do. I see one thing there that says 'set as default' But when you click it, it doesn't have any options to actually set it as a default music player. Am I missing something?

Might I suggest you download the official Samsung Music player app? It's nothing too fancy, but it works great. You can find it on the Google Play Store or the Samsung App Store.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just did. I'll try it out in a little bit when I get in the car. Hopefully when the bluetooth connect, the samsung player will launch instead of doubletwist. :)

When it comes to music players, I like PowerAmp. It's fairly simple, with some really good features. It is a paid app, but the first 1 or 2 weeks are free, so you do have a good chance to make sure it works for you.

i don't use a connected music player but I also like the Samsung Music player, it's simple and plays Music (there are some advanced settings centered content preferences).

Cheers,
BR

Another way to go about this is pretty much the same, but instead:
Go to your permissions and go to doubletwist.
Press set as default
Inside that is an option to clear defaults. Press that.

Now when you select a music file to open, all the available apps will pop up again to choose which you'd like.

I've been doing the same thing but with PDF readers.
