Newbie learning on a ASUS TF700T need to get rid of update 4.2.1 please

I discovered a ASUS TF700T tablet in a closet in the house i moved into. After making sure I could have it from the old room mate I quickly discovered that it was almost impossible to use due to a update called 4.2.1 and also found that other people suffered the same. I decided to begin to learn about Android when i read about rooting and installing a different ROM. Seems that its possible and I am up for the challenge. Cept, hours have been wasted attempting to do this with 100% failure. Although i have been learning about the acronyms and Android speak as I have been working on this. I think its time to ask the masters.

Start here to start learning about the TF700T and ROMs. There are some older (than 4.2.1) stock ROMs, as well as a lot of custom ROMs.

(The people on XDA making ROMs are the masters. We're just Santa's Helpers.)


This site also seems to have a few good ROMs.
