Was searching net and came across a program called Wondershare Mobile Go for android at Install APK Files on Android ? The easiest way to install APK on Android
From my read of it I can collect apk files on my pc and have them moved over with the Nexus cable as well as any other media files. Has anybody tried this or is there some other better way to get files over to Nexus without rooting.. My Nexus 32 gb is to arrive on the 5th so hoping to have everything ready I've also ordered some OTG cables from Amazon but they won't be here for awhile so hoping this method works...thanks run12

You can use a free cloud service of your choice, such as Google drive or dropbox. Root is not required.

I use dropbox myself and it automatically syncs. You can even run and install apk files from it directly.

For larger files such as movies, I would still use the USB cable.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Android Central Forums

Can i ask why you want to install apk from external source rather than from google own app store/market?? Most can be found on the play store app on your nexus.
it can easily be managed from the same app in tablet. No need for any external software.

If there is a specific reason then i would understand.

the program mentioned that but it also said you could move media files to your nexus from your pc and we travel a bit and would like to move some of my movies over and be able to use when no wifi available and wanted to know if anybody had tried it as my OTG cables won't be here initially so I can't can use Nexus media importer with a flash drive

I believe you have not owned an Android device before. i will try to explain you how it works.

On your Nexus 7 you will have an app called "Play Store" which is the app(apk) market..
All application can be installed from that store. it also let you manage apps like delete apps, update to new version etc.
you will find all apps there, every single app.

as per your movies question all you have to do is connect your tablet to your computer using cable that comes with nexus 7.

My computer will show you the hard disk of Nexus 7 and then you copy the movies from pc to the tablet and use player called MX player to play it.
you will find MX player in play store. you should search for it.

you dont need the software you mentioned in your original post.
