Greetings-
I currently am using the Blackberry Storm 1. Do like it but when I have seen what the Droid phones can do, I am ready to switch! When the Storm first came out, I waited a while before I got one so all of the "bugs" could be sorted. Is there any reason to wait on the Droid X? Do you guys think there will be alot of "bugs" or updates soon after it comes out? From what I can tell the Droid X seems very well built and ready to go.

Appreciate the time and look forward to becoming a Droid owner, soon!

Nothing to really fix on the Droid X, really the only thing you should worry about is getting some FroYo on your X... Oh my that sounds dirty.

From what I have read, the Droid and other Android base phones have pretty much been good to go from day 1. I know about Android 2.2 upgrade later this summer. :D Have there been a lot of updates to Droid since it came out? Maybe this is something I don't need to worry about...

2.2 is supposed to come out by the end of summer, but 2.1 is gonna blow your mind coming from the storm. Sometimes I think us phone nerds are so caught up in what is coming next we don't appreciate what we have at the moment. I see no need to wait on getting it (the X) if a problem is found (hardware) it will be within your 30 day return policy and early software problems are fixed with updates.

Yes, it should be free. I don't know that any carrier changes for software upgrades like this.

However, upgrading software on any phone can be an "interesting" ordeal so if something goes wrong it may not cost you any money but you may end up visiting the VZW store. Odds are it'll go smoothly, and if not the guys here will be able to help, but I always caution to do a backup and be prepared to be without a phone for a few hours before commencing an upgrade.

Thanks I'll deff be upgrading when 2.2 comes out. hopefully soon

Hi all, I'm a BB Curve 8300 user and I've had a work-subsidized phone for the past three years. I was laid off in April but landed on my feet with another gig and i'm finally able to choose a phone! I too will be going from Black Berry to Droid, and i have to admit, i really like the BB OS. It's simple, it's works and I'm used to it. I've watched every video and I have to admit, Android is daunting. I think one of the coolest features on the DX is battery management. I don't read to much about it, and it may be that there are too may cool features on it, but being able to program when the phone shuts off and turns on again would be a God-send. I will get a DX in August when i can get a new phone!

The only possible update that might come out would be for the camera (this happened to the original Droid as well) for some focus issues but other than that Android keeps everything updated and fixed when issues come out. Froyo ftw :)
